Effective September 24, 2026. These are the terms you accept in the app before using it.

Information from the Corps of Engineers

Lock Status shows information that comes directly from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' public Lock Performance Monitoring System, plus details such as phone numbers and VHF channels gathered by the developer. Lock Status isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the Corps of Engineers.

Provided as is, on a best-effort basis

Information may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and the app may not always be available. It's provided as is, on a best-effort basis, without warranties of any kind.

Not a substitute for official sources

Don't rely on Lock Status alone for navigation or safety decisions. Always follow the lockmaster's instructions, official notices to navigation interests and radio communication with the lock.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Andrew J. Thom, the developer of Lock Status, isn't liable for any incorrect, delayed or missing information shown in the app, or for any loss, damage, delay or injury resulting from its use.

Lock Status Premium

Lock Status Premium is an optional subscription that adds alerts, Live Activities kept up to date by the Lock Status server, the full trip planner, and traffic and cargo history. Lock status, delays, stoppages and how to hail each lock stay free.

Premium is sold monthly or yearly through the App Store and paid with your Apple Account. It renews automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel or change it anytime in your Apple Account's subscription settings, and it stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple. Apple's standard license agreement also applies.

Premium features depend on the Corps of Engineers' data and on Apple's notification service, so the terms above apply to them too: alerts and updates are sent on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or missed.

The developer doesn't collect any personal information. See the privacy policy for the little data the app handles, and why.

The app shows these terms in your language. If a translation differs from this English version, the English version applies.
